Cost Estimating Engineer

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Duties: Implements Project Estimating strategy, plans and procedures, reflecting both Company and contractor roles and responsibilities ** Prepares or coordinates the development of project estimates and control budgets for all stages of projects and for sanction ** Conforms estimates and control budgets to project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) / Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) when applicable ** Reviews and audits Contractor estimate development procedures and practices ** Quality assures Contractor's cost estimating performance ** Performs estimate quality assurance reviews of Contractor project estimates and change order estimates ** Compares estimates to internal and external benchmarks, including Company data bases ** Supports preparation of Financial Memorandum (FM) and Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) ** Reviews project as-built cost and scope data related to completed projects ** Develops and updates project empirical cost database with completed project actual costs ** Assists and/or prepare cost estimating management data ** Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: At least 10 years project estimating or project management experience **Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, but experience in lieu of education will be considered ** Experience with estimate development tools ** Familiarity with project stage gate processes ** Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines ** Ability to recognize and solve problems ** Strong analytical ability.
