Project Accountant

Location: Anchorage, with minimal, if any, travel required

Position Purpose: Participate as an integral team member of the Controller's Department of this new company by providing general accounting support as well as support for implementing the tools and processes to provide proper accounting for project cost.

Primary Responsibilities: Define and implement a consistent project accounting framework (work break down structure) across the Company's projects and program management functions ** Assist in implementing accounting tools and processess for proper project accounting ** Ensure the individual pipeline project costs and program related costs are recorded, reported and forecast in accordance with the defined work break down structure and in accordance with US GAAP and FERC reporting standards; including analyzing and mapping cost to date to established structures ** Proactively interface with project management, team management and other finance groups for problem resolution and consistency ** Recording work-in-place estimates provided by project leads.

Requirements: BA/BS in Accounting or Business ** 10 years of relevant experience ** Strong analytical and problem-solving skills**Strong understanding on SOX, Tax, and FERC compliance requirements ** Ability to function independently in a new business environment; self starter, self-reliant and flexible ** Strong team work skills, communication and influencing skills ** Strategic thinker with the ability to solve current issues while anticipating future needs of the project; able to recommend and implement solutions.

Preferred:  CPA or MBA ** Experience using analytical skills associated with project accounting and reporting ** Work process / system design and implementation experience.
