Pilot Facilities Engineer
Duties: Progresses the key surface technologies into an integrated heavy oil field development plan through Define, Execute and Operate stages ** Provides key process/mechanical engineering guidance needed to complete the engineering design ** Interfaces with construction and operations personnel to provide support in commissioning and subsequent early operating periods ** Evaluates pilot project learnings and make recommendations for the evolving heavy oil development plan in order to arrive at a cost effective means of developing the heavy oil resource on a large scale ** Works closely with engineering contractors involved in the design of the pilot projects ** Advises the project managers on technical issues, and the Production/Operations lead on operating issues and potential process improvements ** Reports to the Pilot Manager who is responsible for delivering the pilot program through the Appraise and Select stages of the full field project.
Requirements: 10+ years experience with upstream Oil & Gas surface facilities ** Must possess a high committment to HSSE principals, particularly as they apply to the surface processes ** A thorough knowledge of process/mechanical engineering and facilities plant operations ** Ability to communicate effectively with subsurface team members to ensure depletion and business objectives are met in a dynamic setting with evolving understanding of the resource ** Must have heavy oil processing and/or solids handling and transport expertise ** Demonstrated understanding of Major Project common process and capital value process, particularly through the Define and Execute stages ** Ability to work well with third parties, especially contractors and partners with various disciplines
